If you are confused in choosing what type of eyeglasses will be better for you then continue reading this article.
First we will give a brief overview of what eye glasses are,
what are they made of and how can they help us see better.
What Eye glasses really are!
In the older days, eye glasses were made only of glass but
as time changed eye glasses are now mostly made from plastic only, since plastic
eye glasses are much lightweight than the glass ones. Another good thing about
plastic eye glasses is that they can be coated with different layers of coating
which can help protect your eyes. The only problem with plastic eye glasses are
that there is a greater chance of them breaking or getting scratches on them,
while the eye glasses that are made up of glass do not get scratches on them as
easily as in plastic.
There are two types of eye glasses, multifocal glasses help
with distance and with near vision issues, as they will help you in seeing
things properly that are close to eyes. These eye glasses help in tasks such as
reading, writing or knitting. The other type of eye glasses are single vision
glasses which will correct your distant vision for example you will be able to
see things correctly that are far away from you such as seeing time from a wall
clock, watching television from a distance or looking at someone who is
standing at a distance from you.
Multifocal glasses are of three different types, these three
different types are:
• Bifocals: These type of glasses have two different types
of visions the upper half glass is to see distant objects clearly and the lower
half to too see things that are close to your eyes clearly.
• Trifocals: This type of glass has three different types of
visions sectioned within it, the upper glass is for seeing distant objects
clearly, the lower half is to see closer objects clearly and then there is the
middle part of glass which is used to see middle things clearly.
• Progressive: This type is a unique one as it has the
quality of both Bifocals and trifocals glasses, the better thing about it is
that it does not have any dividing lines in between. They have a smooth
transition between the vision areas.
Pros and cons of using glasses
The positive thing about wearing eyeglasses is that they do
not need any special care. You can put them on and take them off without any
difficulty or after a process. You just have to pick them and put them on that
is it and you are ready to go. The negative thing related to eyeglasses is that
if you have a strong prescription your glass lenses can be quite heavy which
can be discomforting to wear for a whole day. Some people think that they do
not look good in glasses and they feel uncomfortable in it. Another big concern
for users of glasses is that the glasses get foggy and you are not able to see
through them in the rain.
